Alvin had gone to the doctor about the numb feeling in his right hand. The doctor gave Alvin a thorough examination, but was unable to find anything physically wrong. The doctor referred Alvin to a psychiatrist, who discovered that the numbness disappeared under hypnosis. After several therapy sessions, Alvin regained normal feeling in his right hand.
