Stung!This photo was my entry for the 6A State Photojournalism competition held on the KU campus in Lawrence KS. when I was a senior in high school. We had to shoot this model (who was a magician) then develop the film and print the photo we thought was the best. We had a limited amount of time to do it and there was a bunch of us in an unfamiliar lab. Most of the other people I was competing against were male and they had more expensive cameras. I had a Pentax K1000 that I knew inside and out. It's a fully manual camera. No auto-focus, no auto metering. You read the light meter and adjusted your settings manually. I think it turned out pretty well and it's still one of my favorite photos.
